Gateway School
Just some feed back about the flight sim that has been at the school for the last week. We were able to give all the aerospace students (in years 11 and 12), each a 40 minute lesson and they were ecstatic. They were also basically assessed on their skills and co-ordination. This proved very valuable to see their skills in a sim.
This gave us some idea of their enthusiasm for the subject and all had very positive results. It also aroused enthusiasm in the year 12's at a stage where they begin to have doubts about the future and their enthusiasm begins to wane. This exposure on a completely new aspect of their study, has had a rejuvenating effect on these students and is very positive
The year 10's were also given access and this aroused significant interest in the junior school. With many students expressing interest in aerospace for year 11. Only time will tell how effective this part of the exercise will be, but at the moment it seems very positive. Many year 8's and 9's also became interested at the presence of the simulator and to the credit of the sim operators they made time for their interest and questions in their own time. A great educational and PR exercise for all.
Griffith University
Thanks very much for that Charles it's appreciated.
The feedback I also received on my end was all positive and the students had a great time just getting in and having a bit of a go. Michael Henry is a good guy and is probably looking to organise something similar (soonish I would imagine).
I have had a couple of additional people talk to me regarding the day and express interest in having something similar in the first semester of next year. As with the courses ever increasing popularity numbers will undoubtedly go up further with next years intake and I hope that such can be taken advantage of. I will definitely be in touch the next time that something like this is required and I sincerely appreciate all you help, guidance and effort on the day.
Please also pass my thanks to Steve and your daughter for their efforts in making the day as popular as it was.

Hi Charles
I hope you’re well. It was great to see you at the Expo. It was a terrific day!
Thank you for your support for the Aviation Careers Expo that was held at City Hall. Your contribution to the day by establishing a quality display certainly helped to draw the crowds and promote the aviation and aerospace industry in the State.
We appreciate the efforts you both took to get the two trailers into King George Square and operate them throughout the day. As a result of your collective efforts, I believe that the KGS display was the best we have had to date.

Hi Charles
We are organising the Light Party again and we would like to know if you would like to bring the flight simulators again. They were a hit but we will understand if you think it was not a good idea.
Ipswich City Council
